Virus Linux

Ijinkan untuk menggunakan judul agak bombastis. Sebenarnya dalam hati bertanya-tanya, apabila dalam pendidikan dasar menggunakan salah satu distro linux sebagai pengantar pelajaran komputer. Bagaimana memperkenalkan virus komputer kepada mereka? :-)

Sejujurnya, saya juga ragu apakah materi ini menjadi relevan walaupun menggunakan sistem operasi windows. Setidaknya, masih bisa dipraktekkan bagaimana memasang antivirus, membersihkan virus dll.

Stolen Moment - Exim Internet Mailer

Baru sadar setelah baca posting Nigel (diarsip di sini):

If there is no one else taking this on then I will build a release, however I will also document it as being the last exim release as the development community is unable to sustain further work, so the only reasonable recommendation is for people to transition to a mailer that has long term support.

Uh.. ternyata sudah bbrp tahun dan sudah cukup lama saya tidak bermain-main dengan exim (lagi) rupanya :-)

Ok. Jadi, di mana sekarang Philip Haezel? Google sebentar, hm.. sudah ada di wikipedia rupanya. Kalau boleh menambahkan, beliau adalah seorang pengembang yang sangat santun.

Klik punya klik, sampai juga akhirnya membaca autobiographical memorir Bapak Philip. Berikut kutipannya:

I retired from my job in the Computing Service at the end of September, 2007. The decision had been made at the start of the year, and I spent some time 'putting my affairs in order', in particular, converting the Exim documentation system to something a little less parochial, and re-implementing the test suite to be more portable.

I knew there were several people who had reasonable knowledge of how the code of Exim works, and there was also a large user population, so I thought there was enough momentum to keep the project going. I was certain, however, that until I actually did go, nobody else would start to take things over. I have remained on the development mailing list, and was pleased to see that people occasionally worked on the code. A I write this, a second 'post-Phillip' release is being tested.

Tidak tahu harus bilang apa, harus bagaimana :-) Tentu saja tetap berharap supaya pengembangan Exim selalu berjalan dengan baik. Semoga.
